These jeans are made of heavy-duty, 15oz selvedge denim from Kurabo, the Japanese mill that produced the very first batch of domestically made selvedge back in the 70s. Safe to say they know what they’re doing over there. Just like all of our 5-pockets, the shape riffs on two other longtime favorites: think Levi's 501s with more taper, APC New Standards with more room in the rise, and slimmer than both from the knee down. They're made in Los Angeles with blue oxford pocketing, a button fly, brass rivets, chain-stitched hems, and clean, unbranded back pockets. If you're new to selvedge, don't be put off by the initial stiffness — raw denim softens up and fades over time. And especially if you can hold off on washing them for awhile, they'll wear in and become as unique to you as your fingerprints.
